Brian Free is undeniably the most recognizable southern gospel tenor of our generation. He has been at the forefront of southern gospel music since first joining Gold City Quartet in 1982, then moving on to form his own group. He and the group have been honored at the Dove Awards for Southern Gospel Performance of the Year, “Say Amen,” in 2014 as well as “Long As I Got King Jesus” in 2006. The mission of Brian Free and Assurance is to lift up Jesus Christ through their music, see souls come to know the Lord as Savior and be an encouragement to Believers across the nation and abroad. They believe in helping others grow in their walk with the Lord by forming exhorting relationships with their fans and investing in them at concerts. Everything is done for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Daywind recording artist Joseph Habedank is a GRAMMY® nominated, Dove Award winning singer/songwriter and Singing News Magazine’s Soloist of the Year (2018, 2017). For ten years, he served first as baritone, then as the lead singer for one of Southern Gospel’s favorite family groups, the Perrys. Joseph has a unique and equally powerful testimony that has been featured on FoxNews.com’s Spirited Debate, TBN’s Praise the Lord, and in such publications as Billboard Magazine, CCM Magazine, and Glenn Beck’s The Blaze.
Triumphant Quartet’s smooth harmonies, and rich quartet sound gained them national attention, recognition and concert demand. Their popularity promoted the group in 2008, from singing daily at the Louise Mandrell Theater in Pigeon Forge, to touring nationally and performing in major concert venues, auditoriums and churches. They have been voted Fan Favorite Quartet in the Gospel Music field for the last several years, and each group member has also been nominated for and received various awards. Triumphant Quartet has had multiple #1 songs and several others have climbed the Top 40 music charts. They have multiple songs and albums of the year as well, which contribute to their popularity. Audiences will find themselves smiling, laughing, crying, encouraged and uplifted. And most of all, they will walk away having had the Gospel Message presented to them in a powerful way, with a hope that many will receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is the focus of Triumphant. He is the reason they sing.
Two of our local popular southern gospel groups will open the evening. Higher Hope of LaGrange, GA is a southern gospel quartet based out of LaGrange, GA, whose traditional sound hearkens back to the roots of family harmonies, hymns, and the traditional southern gospel sound. By Grace is a trio out of Dallas, GA and includes the daughter and son-in-law of WOAK’s own Pam Russell. Both groups are often heard on WOAK throughout the week.
